What Are You Afraid Of?
When I look back over my life, and recall every time I have missed a chance to significantly make a change in my life, and allowed fear of (failure, success, stigma, whatever) take me over, I have had tremendous regret. What might I have accomplished, how might my life be different, good bad or indifferent, if only I had stepped out of that fear zone and gone for it? We fear so many things that we absolutely have control over, let alone the things we do not have control over? I could have written, or completed that novel I started years ago? I could have accepted that marriage proposal? I could have moved sooner to a different location? I accepted a job that I knew I did not want – working for a company I did not like? Getting out of that toxic relationship?
Each time, that I stayed too long, too late, accepted the risky behavior, or let an opportunity pass me by. I ask myself: Did I feel better? No, of course not. I justified it with a person, place or thing, only to realize later that I was afraid to step out, take that chance, and move forward.
Ask yourself, what is on your list?
I challenge you to deal with your fears, your concerns and real issues that is keeping you locked into not moving forward. And do something, NOW.
